VCI Entertainment and Universal Pictures present "Oklahoma Frontier" (1939) (digitally remastered), long running Johnny Mack Brown series turned out in the early '40s...our story opens with the Cherokee Strip with Bob Baker and his sister Anne Gwynne leaving for get a section that is just for them and their dad...the villain James Blaine boss and all around badman, with his henchman Bob Kortman and Charles King (who barely has a speaking role) are also after the same section...our hero Johnny Mack Brown with comical sidekick Fuzzy Knight have a map for the section and give it to Baker...the map is stolen and Baker is killed, Johnny Mack is blamed for his death...Anne and Fuzzy get Johnny out of jail and the landrush is on for their section......watch for the gunfight at the end of the film, see if Johnny Mack can come up a winner once again in this Universal hayseed....just remember double thrills, chills, mystery and suspense...hitting the bull's eye with excitement...don't miss any of Johnny Mack Brown's Double Features loaded with action that will leave you wanting more of his B-Western adventures.

Under director Ford Beebe, producer Albert Ray, screenplay by Ford Beebe, musical director H. J. Salter, director of photography Jerome Ash ...the cast include Johnny Mack Brown (Jeff McLeod), Fuzzy Knight (Frosty/Windy Day in credits), Anne Gwynne (Janet Rankin), James Blaine (Frazier), Robert Kortman (Saunders), Charles King (Soapy), Harry Tenbrook (Grimes), Lane Chandler (Sergeant), Horace Murphy (Mushy), Lloyd Ingraham (Judge Harris), Joe De La Cruz (Cheyenne), Anthony Warde (Wayne), Al Bridge (Kentuck), George Chesebro, Riley Hill. . . . . . . . . . .first special footnote, Fuzzy Knight was the sidekick with his comical ways in many B-Westerns in the '30s & '40s with Johnny Mack Brown and Tex Ritter, finally landing a co-starring role with Buster Crabbe on the small tube in the TV series "Captain Gallant of the Foreign Legion" (1955) as Private Fuzzy Knight. . . . . . . .second footnote, actor Bob Kortman couldn't play any other role but the nasty mean heavy...going back to William S. Hart silents through the '50s in some 250 films, majority of them B-Westerns...Kortman worked with Harry Carey, Johnny Mack Brown, Buck Jones, Ken Maynard, Tom Mix, John Wayne, Roy Rogers, George O'Brien, William Boyd, Tim Holt, Buster Crabbe and Bob Steele...Kortman's skeletal high cheekbones, hollow cheeks, crooked evil smile and glaring eyes branded him once and for all the essential outlaw. . . . .check out this and more in a new book "Best of the Badmen" by Boyd Magers, Bob Nareau and Bobby Copeland, available from Amazon and Empire Publishing. . . pick up your copy today........the final special footnote actor Johnny Mack Brown had a long film association with producer A.W. Hackel in a series of B-Westerns for Universal Pictures, many directed by Ray Taylor and Ford Beebe...A. William Hackel also produced a series of Bob Steele B-Westerns........meanwhile this is an exciting Johnny Mack Brown western provided by Universal Pictures during their heyday of the early '40s.
